Scarf...

I've been crocheting my brains out on that scarf so I can get it D-O-N-E, done! I'm enjoying how quickly it's going, but I really want to start a few other projects. After posting that To Craft List(see, it's working!) I decided not to start anything new until I finish something on my list. Here's two progress pics of the scarf... the whole scarf, and then a close up.
Don't mind the grubby carpet(doesn't everyone say that?) or the poor quality of the pictures(that too). I've put "New Digital Camera" on my holiday wish list('spensive! We'll see about that one!)... I love, love, love this yarn. It's so pretty and perfect for this kind of stitch. Very forgiving! It's 14" wide and so far it's 43" long, and I've still got almost a whole ball of yarn to go! Hoping to post finished pictures soon(within a week?)...

More to do...

I just finished the hat and mittens swap at craftster. I sent out the set I made a few weeks ago; stupid me forgot to take a picture. And seeing how I don't feel right copying someone else's picture(with her in it) and pasting it here, you can go here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=132344.20 and see it for yourself if you feel so inclined. It is, of course, at my favorite site, craftster.org. On the other hand, I have no problems showing you pictures that I took of my fantastic new mittens and hat!

And they match the collar of my jacket perfectly! I was chewing on the idea of getting a new coat, but these changed my mind...

And, seeing how I'm a swap addict now, I've just sent in my information for the Cover a 14" Pillow Swap. I'm going to make a pillow cover and someone else is going to make one for me. Actually, I'm going to see if I can find someone that will make me a set(for my couch), and in return I'll do the same. Should be fun. Something new to add to the To Craft List... Yay!

Speaking of the To Craft List, I was working on my crochet ornaments today. I got four more done, wait, no five! Five more done! I don't have a set amount to make, just enough to decorate my tree and give some away as little gifties...

Well, I just knocked one item off my to-craft list! I spent most of the day doing it, but it was almost therapeutic... And they came out so nice! Have a look for yourself!
I miss the warmer weather(yes, I know, I live in the wrong part of the country...) so I made these thank you cards in bright spring/summer colors and images. They're hand stamped. I would love to sell these in my etsy shoppe, but Stampin' Up is a bit on the greedy side... And that really bothers me. But I don't imagine I'm the only one that feels this way, nor do I think there is too much I can do about it. I can say that I do not plan on buying any more of their stamps(I've had these forever, most of them were gifts). I've been scouting for stamps that are made by Angel Companies. Hoping to buy some soon, once I get the cash that is... At any rate, these are for SSS6! I had intended on doing sets of four thank you notes with a winter theme, but these just kinda happened. I love it when that happens!

New Additions...

After seeing a fellow craftser's blog, I immediately felt the urge to update my own blog(Yes, I'm a sheep, a copy cat, a lemming... but it looks so cool and there's a bit of functionality to it.) I've joined a few web rings. The links aren't active yet, I still have to be approved. I'll update here when they're active. I've also added a To Craft list. I'm hoping that this will prod me into finishing crafts so I can add new ones. I've always got a few going on at once so I don't get bored with one(ADD much?). And I've just realized that I didn't put something on the list... Cocoas for Christmas gifts... damn... gotta go edit. Anyway, have fun and feel free to pick on my sheepishness! I'm hoping to post new pics of my WIPs, check back!

Ribbit, ribbit

So I think I'm going to frog the shawl... I learned a new stitch last night and I want to make a scarf or two with it. Lover's knot... It's sooooo pretty. I'll post pics after a few rows...

I went out today and got a skein of white sport weight to make some snowflakes. Just using the lionbrand.com patterns, and maybe a few from crochetpatterncentral.com. I'll post some of them once I have them done. They're quickies...

I also got what I'll need to make our holiday cards. I started rubber stamping again recently, so I think I'll go that route this year. The past few years have been done with the computer, maybe I'll do both...

And I'm still working on the granny blanket as well as a few crochet cotton dish cloths for my etsy...

ADD much? Not me...

busy busy busy

I've been swapping all over the place! Just finished The Swap the Sweat Shoppe Swap, The Hat and Mittens Swap, and The Happy Little Christmas Swap. Whew! Plus I had a personal swap on the side. I got some of the prettiest yarn that I've already started turning into a triangle shawl(although I may need more from her, another swap?). Here's a pic...
I love the blue, and you can't tell in the picture, there are flecks of tan and grey in it. So stinkin' pretty! Can't wait until it's done! I've also been working on a few other things for my etsy shop, crochet cotton dish cloths and I'm toying with the idea of selling the hand made gift tags and cards I make. But the stamps I use(Stampin' Up) have copyright laws and such, so I have to investigate further... I guess it's not enough that I bought their product, go figure...
I just signed up for The Sweat Shoppe Swap 6. Just a basic quickie swap, ten of the same items. I'll be offering thank you cards this time. There's a ton of good stuff being offered this round, I'm sure I'll have a few personal swaps on the side...
That's all for now, dinner is on it's way and I've got a few things to tie up before I eat...

I made a purse, I made a purse!

*dancing around the room with my new creation* Yay me! I made a purse for my cousin for Christmas. I'm impressed with myself, it came out fairly well and it wasn't terribly difficult. I must give thanks and credit to buglake(her screen name) at Craftster. Without her wonderful tute I never would have done this. I took a few pictures along the way... let's see how many I can cram into this blog...

Can you even see the comments I added to the pics???

I'm skipping a few pictures here on my blog, but I'll include them all in my flickr account...

Drum roll please...

Now, I'm going to go and groom my peacock feathers and practice puffing out my chest...

Yep, that's me... a crafty nerd...

Laugh all you want, but it's true. 32 hours a week I'm a center director/preschool teacher, after that I'm a mom, a wife, and a crafty nerd. I'm slowly building my yarn and fabric stash, I've become addicted to craft swaps(thanks Craftster[http://www.craftster.org/]!) , and I've discovered and rediscovered so many other crafts besides crocheting(again, thanks Craftster!). Right now I'm working on selling a few items in my etsy shop Glitter & Sparkles(www.glittergirl94.etsy.com Check it out and buy something, I'll make more!), I'll be making a purse for my cousin for Christmas(hope to post pics), I started a large one piece granny blanket out of my leftovers, pictured above. Weird color choices, I know, but like I said, it's leftovers. If it comes out nicely, and it's not too much of a drag(I like quick project that make instant gratifcation) I hope to make another one for my etsy shop. Anyway, had to break in the new blog... More craftiness later!
